In 1825, Morrell embarked on a second voyage to the South Pacific, during which he discovered the island of New South Greenland, now known as Kerguelen Island.
In 1829, Morrell published his first book, “A Narrative of Four Voyages to the South Sea, North and South Pacific Ocean, Chinese Sea, Ethiopic and Southern Atlantic Ocean, Indian and Antarctic Ocean,” which detailed his adventures and discoveries.
In 1831, Morrell embarked on his third voyage, this time to the Antarctic, where he discovered several islands and claimed them for the United States.
In 1833, Morrell published his second book, “A New, Authentic and Complete Account of Voyages Round the World, Performed by Royal Authority.
